WHAT WE DO

OUR WORK

We create spaces of communal healing for youth impacted by incarceration.

We do this by facilitating healing-centered outdoor experiences and abolitionist and decolonial social-emotional and environmental education. We provide a wide range of experiences including, community gardening, hiking, surfing, rock climbing, camping, and art workshops to connect youth to the healing power of nature and learning in community.

OUR PROGRAM

The Bloom Project OPERATES YEAR-ROUND

For our older youth (ages 11-20) participation includes:

  • Monthly meet-ups (day programming that may include art workshops, hiking, surfing, community gardening, and more)

  • 2-3 overnight camping trips usually in Winter and Spring

  • Learning about local to global social and environmental justice issues, processing issues relevant to our lives, and developing social-emotional and leadership skills

  • Joy, play, and freedom in the outdoors

For our little ones (ages 5-10) participation includes:

  • Monthly climbing events in partnership with Armadillo Boulders

  • Social-emotional development and reflection, skill development, and a positive learning environment of play and creativity
